Indoor Track Competes at JDL February Meet

Winston Salem, North Carolina- The Brenau indoor track and field team posted multiple top twenty finishes and an overall solid showing at the JFL February Track Meet this past weekend.

Three Golden Tigers notched first place finishes, led by Nathalia Rowe who earned top honors in the 400 yard dash in 1:03.50. The Fayetteville, Ga. freshman also placed seventh in the 60 hurdles in 11.20.

Senior Kayland Thomason also outpaced the competition in the 600 yard run in a time of 1:49.64 and also placed eighth in the 400 yard dash in 1:12.49.

Additionally, freshman Lahna Wempner won the 1000 meters in a solid time of 3:50.77 and also earned seventh in the 800 meter run in 2:55.11.

Jayda Burkett, seventeenth place, pentathlon, 2485 points;

Shatrice Dixon, second place, 60 yard dash, 7.96; third place, 200 yard dash, 27.34;

Zoie Gardner, second place, 1000 meter run, 3:53.77; sixth place, 800 meter run, 2:54.32;

Talara Harper, third place, 60 yard dash, 7.99; fifth place, 200 yard dash, 27.50;

Oluwatomisin John, ninth place, 200 yard dash, 28.37; eleventh place, 60 yard dash, 8.45;

Keren Kepwadi, second place, 600 yard run, 1:53.81; seventh place, 400 yard dash, 1:10.83;

TyLeeah Maddox, tenth place, pentathlon, 2823 points;

Vanessa Providence, seventh place, 200 yard dash, 27.60;

Amaranta Serna, fourth place, 800 meter run, 2:36.98;

Skylar Simon, 24th place, pentathlon, 1854 points;

The Golden Tigers wrap up the indoor season at the AAC Indoor Championships on February 17th and 18th in Winston Salem, North Carolina.
