Dixon Earns All-American Honors at NAIA Nationals
Brookings, South Dakota- Senior Shatrice Dixon became the first Brenau athlete to garner Indoor Track and Field All-American status with her performance at the 2022 NAIA Indoor Track and Field Championships this past weekend.
Dixon jumped 5.67 meters to place seventh in the long jump and initially tie with Maisonne Jones of USC-Beaufort. However, the Sandersville, Ga. native won a tie-breaker over Jones to earn the seventh place spot outright.
Eventual champion Destiny Copeland of Indiana Tech won the event with a mark of 5.94 meters.
Dixon joins former standouts Deishane' Honeycutt (2016) and Olamide Sokunbi (2014-2016) to earn track and field All-American honors as the latter two were outdoor track and field All-Americans.
