Indoor Track Competes at Early Season Meet
Central, South Carolina- Members of the Brenau indoor track and field team competed at the JDL Early Bird Invitational in Winston Salem, North Carolina this past weekend.
The Golden Tigers showed well in all areas and excelled in the throws in the early season meet.
Freshman Sha’Niya Woolery had a standout performance in her first collegiate meet as she earned top honors in the shot put with a throw of 13.03 meters and ninth in the weight throw (11.55m). Her performance in the shot put qualified her for the 43rd Annual Indoor NAIA National Championships in March.
Senior Jailyn Kendrick also had an outstanding day with a second place finish in the weight throw (14.78m) and a seventh place spot in the shot put (10.83m)
Additionally, the 4x400 meter relay team of Audriunna Earl, Kayland Thomason, Kamryn Chambliss and Jaeva Ridley placed sixth in a time of 4:11.44.

Vanessa Providence: 10th place, shot put, 10.08m; 19th place, 200 meters, 27.56;
Laila Reed, 8th place: high jump, 1.38m; 10th place, 600 meters, 1:47.71; 15th place, 60 meter hurdles, 10.20;
Angelica Richards, 5th place, weight throw, 13.40m;
Jaeva Ridley: 4th place, 600 meters, 1:42.28;13th place, 60 meter hurdles, 9.96;
Elajiah Smith: 13th place, triple jump, 10.23m; 17th place, 60 meter hurdles,10.26;
Melissa Smith: 26th place, 800 meters, 3:15.99;

The squad now looks ahead to the JDL Flat is Fast Meet on January 22nd.
