Track Has Solid Day One at 2023 AAC Championships
Winston Salem, North Carolina- The Brenau indoor track and field team opened day one of the 2023 Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) Indoor Track and Field Championships with a strong overall showing on Thursday.
The squad opened with the distance medley relay team of Briona Bierkamp, Jayda Burkett, Emelia Askew and Hedvig Lind placed seventh with a time of 15:50.79.
Other Golden Tiger individual finishers for the day include:
Kamryn Chambliss: fourth place, 400 meters, 1:02.87;
Oluwatomisin John: third place, triple jump, 10.83m;
Jasmine Johnson: second place, 60 meters, 8.01; seventh place, triple jump, 10.45m;
Jailyn Kendrick: third place, weight throw, 14.78m;
Laila Reed: fourth place, 400 meters, 1:03.98;
Angelica Richards: 13th place, weight throw, 11.96m;
Jaeva Ridley: fourth place, 400 meters, 1:02.78;
Elajiah Smith: sixth place, triple jump, 10.68m; seventh place, 60 meters, 8.16m;
Kayland Thomason: fourth place, 400 meters, 1:03.94;
Sha’Niya Woolery: fourth place, weight throw, 14.41m;
The squad sits in third place after one day of competition with 43 points. Milligan (Tenn.) leads with 62 points, while Montreat (NC) is in second place with 45 points.
