Indoor Track Places 3rd at Suwanee Invite
Sewanee, Tennessee- Members of the Brenau indoor track and field team competed at the Tiger Invitational hosted by the University of the South in Sewanee, Tennessee this past weekend.
The Golden Tigers notched two first place finishes as freshman Averie Akin won the 3,000 meter run in a time of 11:22.40 and sophomore Kamryn Chambless won the 200 meters in 27.42. Akin added a second place finish in the 1 mile run and Chambless captured third in the 400 meter dash and ninth in the pole vault.

Gladys Blanco Choque, twelfth place, 1 mile run, 6:20.11;
Mikhaliah Hayes: tenth place, 400 meter dash, 1:13.57;
Jasmine Johnson: seventh place, 55 meter dash, 7.70, tenth place, triple jump, 9.82m; eleventh place, long jump, 4.60m;
Cassidi Jones, twelfth place, 55 meter hurdles, 10.33; seventeenth place, long jump, 4.60m;
Kendra Martin: fourth place, 55 meter dash, 7.51
Madi McMahan: eleventh place, 800 meter run, 2:48.64; fourteenth place, 1 mile run, 6:40.09;
Laila Reed: tenth place, high jump, 1:45m;

The squad now looks ahead to the Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) Indoor Championships on February 15th and 16th in Winston Salem, NC.
