Track and Field Wins AAC Indoor Challenge
The Brenau track and field team had a strong weekend at the AAC Challenge at JDL Fast Track in Winston Salem, NC this past weekend.
The Golden Tigers amassed 149 total points to outpace second place Tennessee Wesleyan University (125.5 points) and Union (Ky.) University (99.5 points).
Cheyenne Wells won the 60m dash with a time of 7.99, while Iman Williams placed fifth with a time of 8.15.
Wells and Williams each showed well in the 200m dash as the duo placed second (26.65) and third (27.02) respectively.
In the 600m run, the Golden Tigers' Nia Griffin (1:40.84) Anazjah Mayes (1:44.12) and Monika Nwajei (1:45.56) placed third, fourth and fifth respectively.
Brenau continued this trend in the 60m hurdles as Sydney Romine (9:20) won the event, while teammates Cheyenne Wells (9:56), DeMichia Higgins (9:73) and Ismaelle Occeus (9.77) swept places two through four to overwhelm the event.
Occeus also continued her outstanding meet with wins in both the long jump (5.19m) and the triple jump (10.87) and a seventh place finish in the 200m dash (27.27).

Brenau next competes at the NAIA Indoor Nationals in Johnson City, Tennessee from March 2nd through 4th.
