Track Competes At Susan Rouse Invitational
The Brenau track and field team had 18 top-ten finishes in a solid showing at the Susan Rouse Invitational hosted by Southern Wesleyan University in Central, SC this past weekend.
The Golden Tigers had several standout finishers as Ayana Daniels placed second in the pole vault (3.05m) to lead the squad. Iman Williams also had a strong showing, placing second in the 400 meters (59.03) and eighth in the 200 meters (26.50).
Senior Alisa Sanford also had an outstanding all-around day, placing seventh in the long jump (4.82) eighth in the triple jump (9.82) and fourth in the high jump (1.45).
Junior Sydney Haas also showed well as she placed fourth in the hammer throw (34.75), eighth in the shot put (10.20) and twelfth place in the discus (27.16).

Haley Gill, sixth place, pole vault, 2.60;
Felicia Gordon, 3000 meters, ninth place, 17:21.30;
Nia Griffin, 800 meters, tenth place, 2:28.21;
DeMichia Higgins, 100 hurdles, fifth place, 16.02;
Monika Nwajei, 400 meters, eighth place, 1:04.20;
Cheyenne Wells, 100 hurdles, third place, 15.37; second place, 25.20;
The 4x100 relay team of Kayla Mitchell, Alexis Garnigan, Gloria Clark and Alisa Sanford, fourth place, 56.03;
The team next competes at the Southern States Athletic Conference Championships in Mobile, Alabama on April 21st and 22nd. The team looks ahead in hopes of capturing their fifth straight SSAC championship.
