Track Opens Season at Crossplex Invitational
The Brenau track and field team opened the 2018 season at the Emory Crossplex Invitational in Atlanta, Georgia.
The Golden Tigers, which brought only a handful of team members, still managed 15th place out of over 40 teams and many other unattached athletes.
According to head coach Byron Kramer, "The meet saw some solid improvement on the part of many of our athletes. Overall, I feel as if our team showed improvement in many events and is headed in the right direction".
Freshman Myia Neal had a strong initial showing by placing fourth overall in the long jump, (5.14m), 10th in the 60 (8.01) and 14th in the 60 hurdles (9.80). She also joined teammates Deborah Ekeanyanwu, Nia Griffin and Tatyiana McClendon to capture fourth place in the 4 x 400 relay (4:10.00).
Fellow freshman Deeanna Joseph also broke the school record in the weight throw with a throw of 10.75 meters.

Bianca Braz, 10th place, 5000 meters, 20:35.03;
The full season schedule starts on March 16th-17th at the Emory Classic in Atlanta, Georgia.
