Indoor Track Competes at BSC Invitational
Birmingham, Alabama- The Brenau indoor track and field team opened the 2019-20 season at the BSC Icebreaker, hosted by Birmingham Southern University on Saturday.
In a huge event that featured 28 teams, including multiple NCAA Division I programs, the Golden Tigers posted numerous outstanding results in the inaugural indoor meet of the season.
Jailyn Kendrick posted a school record in the weight throw with a toss of 14.39 meters, which placed 12th overall in the event. The freshman also had a solid 29th place showing in the shot put (33.1m).
Junior Myia Neal also had an outstanding overall day in the long jump (4.81m), 60 meter dash (8.10), 60 hurdles (9.74) and the 200 meter run (27.24).
Sophomore Shatrice Dixon placed eleventh in the long jump (5.30) and also had a strong 60 meters finish (8.06).
Additionally, the 4x400 relay team of Mitchel Alex, Oluwatomisin John, Myia Neal and Jayda Burkett raced to a strong 4:32.72 to place 16th overall.

Pole Vault: Adriahna Mirus, 2.65m;
Long Jump: Mitchel Alex, 4.71m ; Kanyisola Anjorin, 4.38m; Talara Harper, 4.27m;
Triple Jump: Mitchel Alex, 10.68m;
Shot Put: Deeanna Joseph, 9.54m; Kanyisola Anjorin, 8.71m;
The Golden Tigers next competes at the JDL Invitational on January 19th in Winston Salem, North Carolina.
