Maddox Captures All-American Honors at NAIA Nationals
Gulf Shores, Alabama- Junior TyLeeah Maddox cleared a school-record 1.64 meters in the high jump to garner NAIA All-American status at the 2021 NAIA Women's Track and Field Championships on Friday.
Maddox cleared the height in her third attempt, which placed her in a four-way tie for seventh place with Amanda Chan of Vanguard (Calif.) University and Mackenzie Koepke and Amy Richert both of Concordia (Neb.) University.
The height surpassed the previous Brenau record of 1.62 meters, which was originally shared by both Maddox and Jasmine Jones, who set the record in 2013.
Maddox and teammate Shatrice Dixon each earned 2021 All-American honors and also joined former Golden Tiger greats Deishane' Honeycutt (2013-16) and Olamide Sokunbi (2013-2016) in elite company as Brenau track and field All-American performers.
