Track Competes at Montreat College Open

Montreat North Carolina- The Brenau outdoor track and field team competed at the Montreat College Open this past weekend.

In a very deep field of athletes, the Golden Tigers showed well. Top 15 finishers include:

Mitchel Alex: 9th place, long jump, 5.06m;

Briona Bierkamp: 9th place, race walk, 41:00.

Jayda Burkett: 3rd place, 100 hurdles, 16.14; 11th place, javelin throw, 25.92m;

Kamryn Chambliss: 6th place, 200 meter dash, 26.50; 15th place, pole vault, 2.50m;

Katherine Fourie: third place, javelin, 31.74m; 11th place, shot put, 10.50m;

Oluwatomisin John: second place, triple jump, 11.07m;

Jailyn Kendrick: 10th place, shot put, 10.67m; 10th place, hammer throw, 37.69m;

Vanessa Providence: 7th place, women’s high jump, 1.40m; 7th place, shot put, 10.76m; 11th place, 100 meter dash, 12.90; 15th place, 200 meter dash, 27.58;

Laila Reed: 9th place, 400 meters, 1:03.11; 15th place, javelin throw, 23.75m;

Elajiah Smith: 6th place, long jump, 10.27m; 8th place, 100 hurdles, 17.60;

Kayland Thomason: 6th place, 400 meter dash, 1:01.61;

4x100 relay team of Kamryn Chambliss, Elajiah Smith, Oluwatsomisin John and Jasmine Johnson, second place, 49.64;
