Track and Field Competes at Berry Field Day Meet
Rome, Georgia- The Brenau track and field team placed fifth at the Berry Field Day Invitational, hosted by Berry College this past weekend.
Leading the charge was sophomore Madison Kitson, who won the 400 meters in a time of 55.86. The San Antonio, Texas native continued her strong outdoor season by outpacing 19 other runners in the event. The time also qualified her for the NAIA National Championships in the 400 meters, which will be held next month.
Kitson joined teammates Kamryn Chambliss, Ja'Leyah Wongus, and Kyla Laurent to earn top honors in the 4x400. The relay posted a time of 3:57.93, which was faster than the second place relay by over two seconds.
Freshman Ja'Leyah Wongus also had a really strong performance at the meet with a 6th place finish in the 400 hurdles (1:08.89) and a 7th place finish in the 100 hurdles (16.95).

The squad now looks forward to the 2026 AAC Championships in Black Mountain, NC on April 23rd-25th.
