Tigers Win Big to Snap Losing Skid

Gainesville, GA- The Brenau volleyball team snapped their four-game losing streak in convincing fashion tonight with a straight set victory over LaGrange 25-12, 25-8, and 25-20. The Tigers run their season record to 10-5 with the win and were able to give much needed playing time to the freshmen. Macy Baugh played her best game of the season and picked up four kills and two blocks. Danelle Russell (eight kills, three digs), Melissa Thornton (five kills, three digs, two assists and a block) and Patricia Passos (five receptions and two digs) all made major contributions during the match.Audra VanArsdale had another solid outing with 13 assists, five digs, three receptions, two kills an ace and a block and Maida Smajic came up with 11 digs and nine receptions. Karen Green was also her consistent self with five kills, two aces, an assist and a dig and Courtney Frady and Meredith Hardin each had three kills and two blocks. "I thought we came out and played the way we are capable and showed more consistency tonight," said Coach Meredith Matthews. Brenau will play another home match tomorrow at 2 pm against Converse, NC.
