Tigers Manage Split In Second Day Action

Montgomery, AL- The Brenau volleyball team (14-6) finished up play at the Faulkner Invitational today and split games with Martin Methodist, TN and Southeastern, FL. Martin Methodist swept the Tigers 25-17, 25-19 and 25-20 in a morning match and Brenau bounced back in the afternoon to defeat Southeastern 25-18, 23-25, 25-21 and 25-20.There were some outstanding individual performances in the two matches, including Karen Green who amassed 30 kills, Alexis Arthur with 20 kills, Audra VanArsdale (70 assists), Meredith Hardin (16 blocks), Macy Baugh (15 kills) and Maida Smajic with 48 receptions and 35 digs from her Libero position. Patricia Passos also contributed 23 receptions and 10 digs against Southeastern. Courtney Frady continued her solid play with 16 kills in the two matches. "We overcame a lot of adversity the past two days and showed our mental toughness to win three of the four matches," said Coach Meredith Matthews. The Tigers will travel to Toccoa Falls on Monday in their next matchup.
