Smajic Shines in Loss to Shorter

Gainesville, GA- Senior Maida Smajic was outstanding in defeat today, collecting 28 digs and 27 receptions as Brenau dropped their regular season finale to Shorter. Shorter finishes in second place in the SSAC at 9-3 and 25-8 overall. BU finishes in fourth place at 5-7 and 23-10. The TIgers actually came out firing at took the first game 25-16 before the Hawks stormed back to win the next three 25-19, 25-11 and 25-19.Karen Green had another strong outing with 13 kills and 12 digs and fellow senior Audra VanArsdale collected 31 assists in support of Smajic. Alexis Arthur had seven kills and Courtney Frady knocked down five kills. Meredith Hardin and Kelsey Aley had seven and six blocks respectively. The Tigers now look forward to the SSAC Championships next week in Cleveland, TN.
