Tigers Race Past Reinhardt in Four Games

Gainesville, Ga - Senior Courtney Frady (Ellijay) had a personal season best 12 kills and added four blocks to help the Golden Tigers defeat Reinhardt University tonight in college volleyball, 25-13, 19-25, 25-21, 25-14. It was the second win of the season for Brenau and Reinhardt dropped their fourth straight to fall to 8-8.
Alexis Arthur and Melissa Thornton had monster games with 15 and 16 kills, and each added 17 digs to lead the way on offense. The setters were also on target with Mekenna Cipres giving out 24 assists and Kerry Abernathy adding 17 more. Sophomore Libero Danelle Russell added to her SSAC leading digs total with 23 more digs in this one.
"I was really proud of the way we sustained the momentum in the match, and except for the second game, we played the way I knew we could," said Coach Meredith Franklin. "Courtney really stepped up and gave us a lift and we finished the games tonight."
Next up for Brenau will be a return to conference action as they travel to Shorter on Friday to try to avenge an earlier loss to the Hawks at home.
