Shorter Sweeps Tigers in Three Games

Rome, Ga - Kelsey Aley had one of her best games of the season, but it wasn't enough as the Brenau volleyball team (2-17, 0-5) fell in three straight games to the homestanding Shorter Hawks (16-1, 3-1). Game scores were 25-16, 25-17, 25-20. It was the 12th straight win for Shorter, who is receiving votes in the latest NAIA Top 25 Poll.
In addition to the play of Aley, Sophomore Melissa Thornton had another strong outing with 10 kills and six digs. Danelle Russell was the only other Brenau player in double digits for kills with a team-leading 11. Mekenna Cipres had 14 assists in the match.
The Tigers will travel to Montgomery, Al next weekend for the Faulkner Invitational.
