Berry Slips Past Brenau

Rome, Ga. - The Brenau volleyball team ventured outside conference play tonight when they took on former SSAC member Berry College and the result was an epic five game match that the Tigers couldn't quite pull out. Game scores were 16-25, 22-25, 25-23, 25-21, 12-15.
The match was one of momentum with the Vikings winning the first two games before Brenau roared back to win the next two, forcing the deciding fifth game that also went the distance. Senior Courtney Frady (Ellijay) had a season personal best 12 kills to go with three digs and she was joined by Alexis Arthur with 13 and Melissa Thornton with 11 kills.
Libero Danelle Russell led the way in digs with 22, followed by Thornton with 18 and Arthur with 14 and Setters Kerry Abernathy and Mekenna Cipres had 21 and 15 assists respectively. Brenau will return home for another SSAC match tomorrow night at 7 pm when they host Southern Wesleyan.
