Brenau Volleyball Players Receive Academic Awards

Gainesville, Ga - The Brenau University volleyball team has placed four of its players on the SSAC All Academic Team for 2010. Senior Meredith Hardin (Cartersville), who will graduate with a major in Political Science in May; Kelsey Aley (Tallahassee, FL), who will graduate early this spring with a Biology degree; Junior Alexis Arthur (Aiken, SC), who is majoring in Education; and Junior Danelle Russell (Cartersville), who is studying Mass Communications made the team that was announced this week.

In addition to these honors, Aley and Arthur have also been named to the prestigious NAIA Daktronics Scholar Athlete team for 2010 in volleyball. "I am so proud of these young ladies and their ability to play volleyball at a high level while maintaining an outstanding record academically," said Coach Meredith Franklin. "We place a high premium on being a true student-athlete in our program and these women have lived that out this year."
