All County All-Star Signs with Brenau Volleyball
Gainesville, GA - Recently, Coach Meredith Franklin announced that Lindsay Kelly committed to the Brenau University Volleyball Team. Kelly has played for Forsyth Central High School, for her entire high school volleyball career. Currently, she holds a 4.1 GPA, and is 17th in a graduating class of 314. Moreover, for the past four years, Kelly has competed in the Prolink Atlanta Volleyball Club, under the guidance of Mark Reilly and Michael Carter.
Within just a short time, Lindsay has been recognized for her work ethic on the court and in the classroom, as well as the leadership that she displays on a daily basis. As a 2x team captain, Kelly understood the importance of leading by example, which in turn allowed her to be given the 100% Effort and Sportsmanship Awards. Furthermore, when Kelly applied her skills and dedication, she gained recognition as MVP of her team, Best Offensive Player, and was a 3x All County Selection.
Lindsay Kelly proved that she could successfully balance academics and athletics, while also still being active in other aspects of her school. She was President of the National Honor Society, Vice President and Events Coordinator of the BETA Club, and an active member in Youth Leadership Forsyth, Future Educators of America, Special Buddies Club, and Special Olympics.
As an incoming freshman, Kelly plans to major in education. Although she will only be a freshman, she has the potential to impact Brenau's community, academically, athletically, and socially.
Head Coach, Meredith Franklin, stated "Lindsay Kelly will be a true asset to this team. When I first met her, the leadership qualities that she possesses were the first thing to catch my eye, but once she plays on the court it's a whole other story. I was stunned by her level of playat first glance, she looks like your every day player, but then when the whistle blows she is this scrappy defender on the back row, and when it came time for her to hit, she placed so much power behind every ball. I am truly excited to see what Lindsy accomplishes over the next four years!"
