No. 4 Lee University Sweeps Brenau in 3

CLEVELAND, Tn - The Golden Tigers volleyball team traveled to compete against No. 4 Lee University, on Friday evening. The Lady Flames swept Brenau in three straight sets with the scores 11-25, 10-25, and 13-25. The Golden Tigers headed back home with an overall record of 12-17 (3-11 SSAC), while Lee advanced to a 27-2 overall record (14-1 SSAC).

Outside hitter, Melissa Thornton (Woodstock, GA) kept the Lady Flames on their toes, as she recorded 7 kills, 3 assists, and 7 digs. Alexis Arthur (Aiken, SC) rallied hard from the middle, collecting 5 kills, 4 digs, and 3 stuff blocks.

Senior Kerry Abernathy (Celebration, FL) earned 3 kills, 10 assists, and 8 digs, while Lindsay Kelly (Cumming, GA) led the Golden Tigers with 10 digs.

Both Danelle Russell (Cartersville, GA) and Ashley Valentine (Hoschton, GA) each recorded a single kill; Russell went on to earn 1 assist, 9 digs, and 1 block, whereas Valentine completed a dig and a stuff block.

Brenau's volleyball team will celebrate Senior Day during their final match of regular season play on Saturday, November 5th. The Golden Tigers will host Brewton-Parker College, who is currently 10-16 (1-11 SSAC), at 1pm.
