Golden Tigers Beat Truett-McConell Bears In Three Sets
The Golden Tigers dominated all facets of the game and were able to secure their twelfth win of the season matching last season's total, and improving their home record to 5-1 guaranteeing a winning home record with three home matches left in the season.
The offense was led by freshmen setter Bailey Hicks (Buford, Ga.) who recorded 26 assists, opposite hitter, sophomore Devony Hemingway (Salemburg, N.C.) with 10 kills, outside hitter, sophomore Lindsay Kelly (Cumming, Ga.) earned nine kills, and middle hitter, sophomore Rachel Adam (Athens, Ga.) added six kills.
Defensively, junior Ashley Jackson (Hoschton, Ga.) and Kelly accumulated 10 digs each, Adam had three blocks and Hemingway contributed 2.5 blocks.
The highlight of the evening included 22 straight service points, including four aces by Jackson, setting a new Brenau record!
Truett-McConnell could not recover and Brenau closed out the match with a 25-3 win in the third set.
The Golden Tigers are now 12-5 overall, 4-3 in conference and travel to Mobile, Ala. this weekend to play Spring Hill College (RV) on Friday night at 7 p.m., and University of Mobile on 11 a.m. on Saturday. All times CST
