Volleyball Overwhelms Agnes Scott for Third Win
The Brenau volleyball team used quality serving and a strong game plan to defeat Agnes Scott (Ga.) College 3-1 in a non-conference win on Wednesday.
After winning the first set 25-13, the Golden Tigers dropped the second set 21-25. However, Brenau regrouped to dominate the third set 25-6 and used their momentum to finish the match 25-19.
Sydney Koon, currently ranked 14th in the nation in kills, led the Golden Tigers with 19 kills and added 13 digs. Lindsay Kelly notched 14 digs, while fellow senior Rachel Adam added four blocks.
"We made serving tougher a priority tonight," said head coach Michael Carter. "The team executed our strategy very well. Were also able to take Agnes Scott out of system much of the night and we capitalized on those opportunities. This team is making progress each game".
Brenau (3-2) begins SSAC play on Friday when they host College of Coastal Georgia on Friday at 7:00 pm eastern and Faulkner (Ala.) University on Saturday at 2:00 pm eastern.
