Volleyball Loses Two at Milligan

In the opening match against Union, the Golden Tigers let a close first set slip 22-25, but rallied to win the second set 25-23. After dropping the third set 18-25, Brenau couldn't keep pace and lost the deciding set 20-25.

Sophomore Jasmine Jones led Brenau with 10 kills against the Bulldogs. Freshman Cayla Graham added eight kills and eight digs while Pam Konken and Sydney Koon each added seven kills for the match. Koon led the Golden Tigers with 15 digs.

In the second match, the Golden Tigers started slowly, dropping the first two sets 22-25 and 25-27 to find themselves in a 0-2 deficit. However, the team answered with a resounding 25-19 win in the third set and continued the momentum into the fourth set with a dominating 25-14 win.

In the deciding fifth set, the Golden Tigers kept the match close, but were unable to close out, falling 12-15.

Koon led Brenau with a match high 18 kills and 25 digs. Konken added 13 kills, while Rachel Adam and Allie Smith each contributed 7 kills. Chelsea Foster and Bailey Hicks combined for 46 assists.

Brenau (4-5 overall, 1-1 SSAC) next hosts conference newcomer Middle Georgia State College on Tuesday at 7 pm eastern.
