Volleyball Sweeps Tennessee Wesleyan 3-0

Brenau volleyball started a three-game home stand with a sweep of Tennessee Wesleyan College in straight sets on Thursday in Gainesville.

After squeaking past the Bulldogs 25-21 in the first set, the Golden Tigers found their stride with a dominating 25-11 second set victory. In the third set, Brenau continued their pace, clinching their seventh win of the season with a resounding 25-16 win.

Senior Sydney Koon led the Golden Tigers with 11 kills, while Pam Konken added six kills. Chelsea Foster notched 11 assists on the evening.

"We really did a great job of taking the defensive and blocking schemes from practice and executing them in the match," said head coach Michael Carter. "Serving was strong and we were able to take away Tennessee Wesleyan's best hitters much of the night".

"We also had a particularly strong effort from our seniors, particularly- Rachel Adam, Sydney Koon and Devony Hemingway".

Brenau (7-6, 3-2 SSAC) finishes the long weekend with two SSAC matches as the Golden Tigers play host to Faulkner (Ala.) University on Friday at 7 pm eastern and Belhaven (Miss.) University on Saturday at 1 pm eastern.
