Volleyball Drops Two SSAC Matches

The Brenau volleyball team dropped two road conference matches this weekend as the Golden Tigers lost to both Bethel (Tenn.) University and Martin Methodist (Tenn.) University in straight sets this weekend.

Against Bethel, the Golden Tigers kept the first two sets close, but lost 22-25 and 23-25. In third set, Brenau couldn't find their rhythm and lost the final set 17-25.

Senior Sydney Koon led the Golden Tigers with 13 kills, while freshman Cayla Graham added 11 kills. Senior Chelsea Foster added 15 assists while Bailey Hicks added eight assists.

The Golden Tigers had 30 kills, but were outhit by the Wildcats who notched 40 kills for the match.

Against Martin Methodist, Brenau continued to struggle as the RedHawks swept the match 19-25, 19-25, 18-25.

Brenau tallied 35 total kills and had an attack percentage of 0.206, but were unable to contain Martin Methodist's offense which had 41 kills and a 0.319 attack percentage.

Koon once again led the Golden Tigers with 12 kills, while senior Rachel Adam added 9 kills. Sophomore Pam Konken added 29 assists for the match.

Brenau (9-8, 5-4 SSAC) next hosts Milligan (Tenn.) College on Thursday night at 6:30 pm eastern in the annual Brenau Dig Pink game.
