Volleyball Drops a Pair of SSAC Matches

The Brenau volleyball team lost to conference foes Martin Methodist and Bethel in Southern States Athletic Conference play this past weekend.

Against Martin Methodist, the Golden Tigers dropped the first two matches 21-25 and 22-25, but rallied to win the third set 25-19. However, the Red Hawks squeezed out the fourth set victory 25-22 to win the match.

Senior Pam Konken led Brenau with 12 kills, while Erin Starnes added 11 kills. Savannah Wilbanks added 32 assists.

On Saturday, Brenau started slowly and couldn't regain momentum, losing 5-25, 21-25, and 17-25 in three sets.

Sophomore Haley Ponder had six kills, while Wilbanks chipped in 15 assists.

Brenau (2-10 overall, 0-4 SSAC) next travels to William Carey (Miss.) College in Hattiesburg, Mississippi on Thursday.
