Volleyball Splits In SSAC Play
The Brenau volleyball team split matches with the University of Mobile (Ala.) and Loyola (La.) University in Southern States Athletic Conference play this past weekend.
On Friday, the Golden Tigers struggled with the Rams, falling 10-25, 18-25 and 19-25 in three sets. Jasmine Jones led with a game-high 14 kills, while Savannah Wilbanks had 28 assists. Carlee Praznik added 21 digs.
On Saturday, Brenau held off the Wolfpack in a tight 29-27 first set, and then used their momentum to win the next two sets, 25-21 and 25-18.
Jones again led the Golden Tigers attack with 14 kills, while Pamela Konken added 13 kills and 10 digs. Wilbanks contributed 37 assists and Praznik had a game-high 21 digs.
"The match against Loyola was an inspired effort by all," said head coach Michael Carter. "We played really clean, efficient volleyball and it was a great way to send off the seniors, Pam (Konken), Allie (Smith) and J.J. (Jasmine Jones) for their last home match."
Brenau (7-18 overall, 5-10 SSAC) next travels to Martin Methodist (Tenn.) College and Bethel (Tenn.) University for a pair of SSAC matches this weekend.
