Volleyball Closes out Running Eagle Classic

The Brenau volleyball team closed out a tough weekend with losses to Faulkner (Ala.) University and the University of Mobile on Saturday in Marietta.

Against Faulkner, the Golden Tigers struggled to find a consistent attack, but lost a close first set 25-18. In the second and third sets, the squad again pushed the Eagles but were unable to close out either match, losing both by a score of 25-20.

Karlie Moss led the offense with nine kills, while Savannah Combs had 11 digs. Setter Savannah Wilbanks added 17 assists.

In the finale, the Golden Tigers fell to Mobile, 25-18, 25-11, 25-15, to close out the weekend.

Combs again led the team with 12 digs, while Wilbanks notched 15 assists. The team struggled offensively as the Rams outhit the Golden Tigers with a .398 to .100 attack percentage.

Brenau (1-7 overall) looks ahead to a September 7th match against Middle Georgia State, hosted by Life University at 5 pm in Marietta.
