St. Andrews Slips By Volleyball

The Brenau volleyball team pushed AAC-leading St. Andrews (NC) College but fell in three sets in Appalachian Athletic Conference play on Tuesday in Laurenburg, NC.

The Golden Tigers kept all three sets close against the host Knights, who entered the match in first place in the Southern Division, but came up short in a 25-20, 25-22, 25-19 loss.

Freshman Karlee Moss led the Brenau attack with 11 kills, while Atiana Lewis and Patience Thurmond added eight and seven kills respectively. Savannah Wilbanks added 36 assists and nine digs, while Savannah Combs had a team-high 13 digs.

Brenau (2-13 overall, 1-3 AAC) next hosts Truett-McConnell (Ga.) College (0-4 overall, 0-9 AAC) on Friday at 6:30 in Gainesville.
