Volleyball Drops A Pair of AAC Matches
The Brenau volleyball team dropped a pair of home matches against Milligan (Tn.) College and Montreat (NC) College in Appalachian Athletic Conference play this weekend.
Against Milligan, the Golden Tigers kept the score close against the Buffaloes but lost 25-18, 25-18, 28-26 in three sets.
Karlee Moss led the home team earned 19 kills and three digs, while Savannah Combs had a team-high 15 digs as Brenau was outhit .342 to .284 by the visitors.
On Saturday, the Golden Tigers hosted their second conference match in as many days, falling to Montreat, 30-28, 20-25, 21-25, 21-25.
Brenau won the first set, but was unable to close out the match as the Cavaliers swept the final three stanzas to escape with the win.
Moss notched 26 kills, while Nicole Ighile added 11 kills. Savannah Wilbanks tied a season-high 42 assists in the match.
Brenau (4-16 overall, 3-5 AAC) next travels to Truett-McConnell College on Tuesday for a 6:30 pm conference match. The Golden Tigers defeated the Bears 3-0 in their first meeting on September 29th in Gainesville.
