Volleyball Defeats Truett McConnell 3-0

The Brenau volleyball team defeated Truett McConnell College 3-0 to sweep the regular season series In Appalachian Athletic Conference play on Tuesday in Cleveland, Georgia.

After a tense 27-25 first set victory, the Golden Tigers found their rhythm to run past the host Bears 25-16 and 25-15 in the final two stanzas.

Freshman Atiana Lewis matched her season-high with 12 kills, while Karlee Moss added nine kills and 14 digs. Savannah Combs and Haley Ponder chipped in 15 and 13 digs respectively in the victory.

The Golden Tigers outhit the Bears .208 to -0.43 in hitting percentage and were more efficient with 18 fewer attack errors in the match.

With the victory, Brenau (6-16 overall, 5-5 AAC) evens their conference record and sits in fourth place in the South Division.

The squad next hosts Point (Ga.) University (15-6 overall, 10-3 AAC) next Tuesday at 6:30 pm in Gainesville.
