Volleyball Falls to Point In AAC Play
The Brenau volleyball team fell in three sets to Point University in Appalachian Athletic Conference play on Tuesday in Gainesville.
The visiting Skyhawks (17-7 overall, 11-4 AAC) led by as many as five in the first set, but the Golden Tigers closed the gap behind two consecutive kills from Nicole Ighile to cut the deficit to 18-17. However, Point outscored Brenau 8-2 to close out the first set 25-19.
In the second and third sets, the Golden Tigers again jumped out to early leads, however, Point again rallied to win both matches 25-20 and 25-18 to secure the win.
Karlee Moss led the Golden Tigers with 11 kills, while Nicole Ighile and Atiana Lewis each added 10 kills. Savannah Wilbanks also added 31 assists.
Brenau (6-17 overall, 5-6 AAC) next travels to Bryan College on Friday for a 6:30 pm conference match.
