Volleyball Loses to St. Andrews in Five Sets

The Brenau volleyball team closed out the regular season with a close 3-2 loss to St. Andrews (NC) College (16-25, 25-15, 25-17, 11-25, 14-16) in Appalachian Athletic Conference play on Thursday in Gainesville.

The Golden Tigers dropped the first set, but rallied to win the next two sets to take a 2-1 set lead. However, the squad couldn't hold to their lead, dropping the final two sets for a 3-2 loss.

Karlee Moss led the offense with 18 kills, while fellow freshman Lanier Leonard added 13 kills. Haley Ponder and Savannah Combs each added 17 digs and Jordan Diaz chipped in 16 digs. Setter Savannah Wilbanks also had a game-high 43 assists and 19 digs.

Brenau (9-21 overall, 8-10 AAC) next competes at the Appalachian Athletic Conference tournament in Kingsport, Tennessee next week. Opening round pairings will be announced later this week.
