Volleyball Players Receive AAC Postseason Honors
Two members of the Brenau volleyball team received postseason honors from the Appalachian Athletic Conference, the conference office announced on Wednesday.
The AAC recognized senior Amanda Bowersox and sophomore Kayleigh Reece for their individual achievements during the 2018 season.
Bowersox, a native of Vicksburg, Michigan, was a dual award winner, capturing the Brenau Champions of Character award as well as being an All-Academic team selection. For Bowersox, this was her second consecutive year of receiving both awards.
Reece, a native of Ellijay, Georgia, joins Bowersox for her first All-Academic team honor. The sophomore started all 30 games for head coach Michael Carter this season and receives her first All-Academic nod.
Champions of Character team members are the individuals chosen from each team that best represent the NAIA's Five Core Values of Integrity, Respect, Responsibility, Sportsmanship and Servant Leadership.
All-Academic team members must hold a minimum 3.25 grade point average and be enrolled in at least two semesters of college.
