Volleyball Drops AAC Match to Truett McConnell
Cleveland, Georgia- The Brenau volleyball team lost in three sets to Truett-McConnell (Ga.) College (25-20, 25-14, 25-17) in Appalachian Athletic Conference play on Tuesday.
The Golden Tigers kept it close throughout the first set, staying within four points of the Bears in the set. With a 20-17 Bears lead, Annabeth Vandiver notched a kill from Nitaira Wilkes to cut the deficit to 20-18. Truett responded with five points down the stretch to capture the set win.
In the second and third sets, Truett (12-13 overall, 8-6 AAC) continued to hold command of the match to take the victory.
Vandiver and Rachel Hodges each posted five kills, while Jordan Diaz and Mackenzie Kirby combined for 26 digs.
Brenau (2-21 overall, 2-12 AAC) next hosts Life University (14-6 overall) on Wednesday at 7 pm in a non-conference matchup.
