Volleyball Sweeps Columbia in AAC Competition
Columbia, South Carolina- The Brenau volleyball team defeated Columbia College 3-0 (25-23, 25-18, 25-17) in Appalachian Athletic Conference play on Wednesday.
The Golden Tigers outhit the host Koalas with a .127 to .000 hitting percentage advantage and played stellar defense as four different players notched double-digit digs to capture the conference win.
Junior Jordan Diaz led the defense with 21 digs, while sophomore MacKenzie Kirby earned 17 digs. Sophomore Rachel Hodges had 14 digs and senior Nitaira Wilkes added 12 digs. Junior Kayleigh Reece led the attack with seven kills.
The victory was the second over Columbia this season as the Golden Tigers previously defeated the Koalas in five sets in early September.
Brenau next hosts non-conference opponent Toccoa Falls College (12-7 overall) on Wednesday at 6:30 pm in Gainesville.
