Santiago Commits to BU Volleyball for 2020-21
The Brenau University volleyball team and head coach Michael Carter announces the signing of Rocio Santiago to the 2020-21 team.
Santiago, the daughter of Myriam Lopez and Robert Santiago, was a standout setter from South Paulding High School and a native of Douglasville, Ga.
During her playing career at South Paulding, Santiago was an All-Region selection and helped her team achieve second place in the region. She was also a member of the National Beta Club and is an honors student.
When asked about her commitment, Santiago said, "I'm blessed with the opportunity to play volleyball in college, and I'm proud to say I'm a Golden Tiger."
According to head coach Michael Carter, "We're thrilled to welcome Rocio to the Golden Tiger family! She has played a very high level during her prep career and that experience should translate to success for us."
"In addition to being a great volleyball player, Rocio is an even better person who will bring a wealth of intangibles to campus."
Santiago plans on majoring in Pre-Physical Therapy and is the first signee for the 2020-21 volleyball program.
