Volleyball Drops a Pair of AAC Road Matches
The Brenau volleyball team dropped a pair of Appalachian Athletic Conference road matches as the team lost to Kentucky Christian University 3-0 (21-25, 17-25, 16-25) and Union (Ky.) College (11-25, 7-25, 18-25) on Friday and Saturday.
Against Kentucky Christian , the Golden Tigers kept the first set close, but could not hold on as the host Crusaders(2-3 overall, 2-3 AAC) escaped with a 25-21 win. The momentum carried into the final two sets as Kentucky Christian slipped away with the victory.
The Crusaders outhit the Golden Tigers with an attack percentage advantage of 0.196 to 0.033.
Junior Rachel Hodges led Brenau with six kills and fellow junior Sydney Norton led with 12 assists. Sophomore Julieanne Saliba added a match-high 14 digs.
On Saturday, the Union Bulldogs (7-0 overall, 7-0 AAC) seized control early and cruised to a three-set victory.
Freshman Chloe Bennett finished with eight kills while fellow freshman Rocio Santiago had eight assists. Saliba again led Brenau with a team-high 14 digs.
Brenau (0-3 overall, 0-3 AAC) next travels to St. Andrews (NC) University (1-3 overall, 1-3 AAC) for an AAC matchup on Friday.
