CIU Defeats Golden Tigers Volleyball in Three Sets

Gainesville, Georgia- The Columbia International University Rams defeated the Brenau Golden Tigers volleyball team in three sets (22-25, 19-25, 13-25) in Appalachian Athletic Conference play on Tuesday.

The Golden Tigers threatened in the first set as a kill from junior Rachel Hodges tied the score at 18-18. However, the Rams finished with a 7-4 run to clinch the set victory. The visitors then won the final two sets to take the victory.

Freshman Chloe Bennett led the Golden Tigers attack with 11 kills, while Hodges added eight kills. Freshman Rocio Santiago added 14 assists and sophomore Julieanne Saliba posted 14 digs.

Brenau (3-15 overall, 3-15 AAC) finishes up the regular season when the squad hosts Tennessee Wesleyan (5-10 overall, 5-10 AAC) at 6:30 pm on Friday.
