Volleyball Holds Off Columbia for AAC Win

Columbia, South Carolina- The Brenau volleyball team held off Columbia (SC) College for a 3-1 victory (25-18, 26-24, 24-26, 25-23) in an Appalachian Athletic Conference contest on Tuesday.

After taking a two set lead, the host Koalas edged the Golden Tigers in the third set 26-24. However, Brenau responded by winning the fourth set 25-23 to secure the squad's third conference victory of the season.

Senior Mary Ellen Enright led Brenau with 16 kills and 14 digs, while senior Chloe Bennett added 14 kills and 7 digs. Junior Malone Davis added 11 kills. 

Freshman Jomaris Maldonado added 17 digs and senior Gabrielle Hogle netted 32 assists and 10 digs. 

Brenau (4-9 overall, 3-3 AAC) returns home next Tuesday to take on Reinhardt (Ga.) University (11-2 overall, 4-1 AAC) in an Appalachian Athletic Conference matchup at 6:30 pm.
