The Brenau volleyball team defeated Columbia (SC) College 3-0 to win its third straight Appalachian Athletic Conference match on Tuesday.
The Golden Tigers' offense jumped out to a fast start against the visiting Koalas (3-20 overall, 3-11 AAC) by winning the first set 25-8. The home team used the momentum to breeze through the final two sets (25-16, 25-18) to sweep Columbia in three sets.
Brenau employed a balanced offensive attack, with nine different players registering kills in the victory.
Junior setter Nathalia Quintero posted a match-high 21 assists, and freshman Alyssa Evans led the defense with 8 kills.
Brenau posted a hitting percentage of .268 to Columbia's -.131.
The Golden Tigers (12-8 overall, 9-3 AAC) travel to Johnson (Tenn.) University (22-5 overall, 10-2 AAC) on Friday for a 6:30 pm match.
