Brenau Cross Country Competes at Commodore Classic

Nashville, TN- Junior Audra Cochran again led the way for the Golden Tigers today as they competed in the Commodore Classic where a field of 18 teams and 148 runners braved difficult weather to run the 5K course with Vanderbilt University as the host. Cochran outsprinted teammate Lillian Korir to finish 93rd with a time of 22:19.43. Korir was next with a time of 22:19.68 and Sophomore Maria Gonzalez finished third for the Tigers, coming in113th with a time of 23:21.The other runners who competed for Brenau in the race were: Regina Ogechi (23:30), Monica Muchene (24:11), Shkurte Ejupi (24:43), Ashley McCoy (25:26), Kelly Young, who is struggling with a bad knee (27:15), and Fatima Talavera, who PR'd with a time of 28:32. The other conference teams in attendance were Union, who finished ninth and Blue Mountain (17th). Bethel and Freed-Hardeman did not field complete teams.
