Cochran Leads the Way at Louisville

Louisville, KY- It was a flat and fast course and an outstanding field for the Tigers cross country team, and they responded with their best times of the season. There were 22 teams and 181 runners competing in the Southeastern Cross Country Classic at the Tom Sawyer State Park, and Brenau finished 16th. As she has most of the season, Junior Audra Cochran paced the Tigers, finishing in 56th place with a season-best 21:03 for the 5K distance.Freshman Lilian Korir ran a 21:03 to finish 70th and Sophomore Maria Gonzalez also broke the 22 minute barrier, clocking a 21:52 good enough for 96th place. Muchene finished 120th (22:53); Shkurte Ejupi came in 124th at 22:57; and Freshman Ashley McCoy ran a personal best 23:57 to finish 140th. Fatima Talavera also ran her personal best, 26:23 to end at 169th place. The winning time was 17:18, posted by Justyna Mudy of Shorter College and the winning team was Concordia, CA.
