Brenau Runners Open Season at Bobcat Invitational

Milledgeville, Ga - The Brenau cross country season kicked off on Friday at the Bobcat Invitational, hosted by Georgia College and State University with five teams in attendance. Augusta State won the meet and the Tigers finished fifth of five teams. Senior Audra Cochran paced the Tigers, finishing 16th with a time of 22:38 on the 5K course.
Junior Maria Gonzalez ran a strong race, running a 24:22 and placing 25th and she was followed by Freshman Eileen Devico (32nd, 25:43), Regina Ogechi (35th, 26:58), Monica Muchene (36th, 27:33), and Fatima Talvera (40th, 33:26).

"It was a very difficult course, with a lot of hills and the temperature was in the 90's," said Coach Susan McIntyre. Everyone ran well for us and I was particularly pleased with Audra and Maria."
