The pre-season cross country run, a 30-mile relay, kicked off at Brenau University, Gainesville, Ga., at nine a.m. Monday, Aug. 22, 2012. It lasted through the morning and into the afternoon until runners got all the way to the Tesnatee River in Dahlonega, Ga.
The Tigers were divided into two teams competing for the best time. However, all the runners wore matching lime and orange tank tops. Twelve runners participated in the Relay Run 2012 for Brenau, handing off at two to three mile intervals. From Brenau University, Gainesville, runners weaved through Hall County, White County, and Lumpkin County to make it to the finish line.
When the runners reached the historic Clermont Hotel in Clermont, Hall County, resting runners began running with their teammates to accumulate extra mileage for their team. At the finish line at the Tesnatee River in Dahlonega, Ga., runners began the celebration of the start of Brenau Cross Country's 2012 season.
