Versatile Runner Commits to Golden Tigers
Brenau Cross Country and Track and Field announces the signing of Kaitlyn Gearing to the 2014-2015 teams.
Gearing is the daughter of Jeannette and Bill Gearing, and is a multi-sport athlete from White County High School in Cleveland, Georgia.
The oldest of seven children, Gearing was a member of the 2013 7AAA All-Region First Team and was a state qualifier in the high jump, 400 meter run, 300 meter hurdles and ran on the 4 x 100 and 4 x 400 relay teams.
Gearing, who also played basketball and soccer her senior year at White County High School, said she chose Brenau because of "the team felt like family".
"The team is very excited to add Kaitlyn to our family," said head Cross Country coach Susan McIntyre. "She is a talented runner and versatile athlete who will definitely be a great addition to both the cross country and track teams".
Track and Field coach Rick Ludwig echoed the same sentiments, saying, "I am also very excited about Kaitlyn's ability to compete at a high level in multiple events. She will be a great addition to both programs".
The Golden Tigers Cross Country team and the Track and Field programs both were 2014 SSAC champions.
