Wooten Commits to Cross Country and Track

Brenau athletics announces the signing of Samantha Wooten to the 2015-2016 cross country and track programs.

Wooten is a native of Tunnel Hill, Georgia and a runner at Northwest Whitfield High School where she ran the 400 meters, 3,200 meters and was on the 4x400 relay team and cross country teams. Her personal best times include 1:09 (400 meters), 16:31 (3200 meters) and 22:53 (5K).

"We are excited to bring Samantha into the Brenau family," said head coach Rick Ludwig. "She is an outstanding young woman and will be a tremendous addition to our track and cross country teams. She is strong academically and an excellent distance athlete. I see her best days of running in front of her and I am sure she will continue to improve as a competitive college athlete."

Wooten is the first signee for the cross country team, which returns a strong core of runners to the 2015 squad.
