Cross Country Picked Third in SSAC Preseason Poll
The Brenau University cross country team was selected third in the 2016 Southern States Athletic Conference (SSAC) Women's Cross Country Coaches' Poll, the conference announced on Friday.
Second year head coach Heather Estetter returns seven letter winners from last year's team and adds four talented newcomers to her squad as Scola Jemurgor, Elizabeth Lowe, Giovanna Sifontes, and Alisha Wright hope to add to the success of the program.
2016 SSAC champions Dalton State (Ga.) College led the preseason poll with 80 votes (8 first-place votes), while Blue Mountain (73), Mobile (53) and William Carey (46) join the Golden Tigers to round out the top five.
The team begins their season on September 3rd at the University of Georgia Invitational in Athens, Georgia.
