Cross Country Competes At Furman Classic
At the Furman XC Classic, the Brenau cross country team placed 13th in a highly competitive field on Saturday in Greenville, SC.
The Golden Tigers had a total team time of 2:14:14 and an average time of 26:50 in the 6K event. Freshman Bianca Braz led the squad for the second consecutive event with a time of 25:15.34, while sophomore Michelle Velazquez ran a 26:11.58. Nia Griffin also had a good showing by running a 26:29.10.
Other individual finishers include Sydney Romine (27:56.22), Harley Stephens (28:21.99), Keri Ashworth (29:34.38), Elizabeth Lowe (31:05.14), Giovanna Sifontes (31:12.92), Kanyisola Anjorin (32:56.19) and Taylor Love (32:59.10).
Host Division I Furman University won the event, while Clemson (SC) University, Lee (TN) University, Mt. Olive (SC) College and Emory (Ga.) University rounded out the top five finishers.
Brenau next races on September 16th at the University of North Georgia in Oakwood, Georgia.
